Our Courses

Cyber Security

This course provides a structured path into the world of cyber security, covering essential concepts such as networking, operating systems, and security fundamentals before advancing into threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response. Learners will explore encryption, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, ethical hacking, and cloud security, while also engaging with industry tools such as Wireshark, Metasploit, Splunk, and Kali Linux. With a strong emphasis on practical labs and simulated attack-and-defence scenarios, students gain the confidence to apply their skills across diverse IT environments.

Overview

The Cyber Security course is structured across twelve weeks, gradually advancing from core foundations to applied practices. In the early weeks, learners focus on understanding networking principles, security basics, and common vulnerabilities. The middle phase introduces ethical hacking techniques, penetration testing, and threat analysis, alongside hands-on practice with industry-standard tools. In the final weeks, students gain expertise in incident response, security operations, and cloud security, culminating in a capstone project where they design a defence strategy for a simulated organisation.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Cyber Security course are prepared for roles such as Security Analyst, SOC Analyst, Penetration Tester, Cybersecurity Consultant, or Junior Ethical Hacker. These roles are highly sought after across industries including finance, government, healthcare, e-commerce, and technology. With further growth and experience, learners can progress into senior positions such as Security Engineer, Incident Response Manager, or Cybersecurity Architect.

Graduate Benefits

Upon completing the course, students will have demonstrated strong practical competencies in cyber defence and threat mitigation. Students can expect to gain:

  1. Portfolio Project Showcasing

    • Capstone project designing a defence strategy for a simulated organisation, including vulnerability assessment, penetration test plan, and incident response playbook.
    • Shareable artefacts (network diagrams, SIEM dashboards, reports) presented in a clean, interview-ready portfolio.
  2. Personalised Career Support

    • Resume and LinkedIn optimisation tailored to Security Analyst, SOC Analyst, and Penetration Tester roles.
    • Mock interviews featuring threat-hunting, blue-team vs red-team scenarios, and log-analysis challenges.
    • Guidance on building a public lab portfolio (home lab setup, write-ups, GitHub documentation) to showcase skills.
  3. Global Employability and Salary Range

    • Skills aligned with common security frameworks and tools used across industries (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, vulnerability scanners).
    • Suitable for in-house IT/security teams, consulting, MSSPs, and remote roles.
    • Typical entry-level salaries range from £35,000 to £65,000+, with higher earning potential as specialisation and experience grow.
